| 8/23/08 Vehicle Extrication Drill | On Saturday August 23rd, the members of the Laurel Springs Fire Department had a special drill at 1500 hrs. Crews spent the afternoon, under the 92 degree sun, reviewing vehicle extrication techinques and standard operation procedures the Laurel Springs Fire Department uses everyday.
After performing 4 door removal, a full roof removal, a "California Cut" and a dash roll, you can see nothing is left.

**MORE PICS COMING SOON** | | 7/19/08 Vehicle Fire behind Weaver's Pub | At 0427 hours on July 19th, Station 60 was dispatched for a vehicle fire in the parking lot behind Weaver's Pub on the White Horse Pike. 6001 and 6002 arrived on location and reported a vehicle with it's engine compartment well involved.

Squad 60 responded with 5 and Engine 6022 followed soon after with 3 on board. Squad 60's crew extinguished the fire with in 1 3/4 handline. Station available at 0508 hrs.

Matt Holden Class of 2008 Sterling High Graduate | | Welcome Back Evan! | The Laurel Springs Fire Department is pleased to welcome home Army Specialist Evan Graham. Back from his tour in Afghanistan, Evan went immediately back on duty the next day as a volunteer firefighter with the LSFD, answering all three calls that day!
Welcome Back Evan! | | Foam Drill | On June 10th at 1900 hours, the Laurel Springs Fire Department conducted a Foam Operations drill. Taught by Asst. Chief Winters, crews practiced using foam and foam appliances, reviewed procedures on foam use and, best of all, demonstrated Squad 60's "Pump and Roll" capabilities using foam.

Pump and Roll! | | Two MORE Deliveries! | Congratulations to Chief Ken and Cindy Cheeseman on the birth of their twin baby girls, Ashleigh Moore Cheeseman and Amanda Kelly Cheeseman both born June 2nd, 2008. The girls for born at 5lbs 9 oz and 6lbs 2oz and arrived 2 minutes apart!
